If you’re not a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner family, don’t keep reading this. If you didn’t guess by the title, it’s all about the KKW x Kylie collection with Kylie Cosmetics. Please leave all the negativity behind. On to the review.
Kim Kadashian West finally released a collab with Kylie Jenner and her cosmetics line, Kylie Cosmetics. I was super excited about this collab because Kim always has iconic beauty looks with the help of her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. However, after looking at the colors I was pretty skeptical. They’re all nice colors, but they just looked like it wouldn’t look right against my skin tone. I also felt like I wouldn’t use most of the colors. My mom got them and I decided to try hers out.
The product is marketed at créme liquid lipsticks. According Kim, she decided to do a créme formula because she always likes to pair matte lipsticks with chapstick or some sort of lip balm. Therefore, she created this brand new formula with Kylie Cosmetic–KKW x Kylie.

I honestly really liked the formula. It looks a lot glossier than what it actually feels like. I have a slight problem with the fact that it’s called a créme liquid lip. I find that it’s too thin to be a créme liquid lipstick. L from DupeThat suggested it should be called a lip oil in her review and swatch video. I don’t find it to be an oil either. I would say it’s probably a mix between a lip oil and créme liquid lip.
It’s also definitely not a long wear product. However, it wears off nicely. It doesn’t look bad or patchy as it wears off. It has a nice fade to it, the way a regular nude lipstick would fade.
In the pictures I took, I swatched the liquid lip the way it actually applies (full product) and the way I like to wear it (almost no product). I don’t like the full product on my lips, with the exception of Kimmie, because I’m not really fond of glossy looking lips. I like to apply it with the least amount of product on the wand as possible. Then I like to blot my lips on a napkin the way you would with a lipstick. To even out the color, I pat lightly with my ring finger. It looks like like I don’t have anything on in the pictures, but I promise I do.
I’ve worn the shade Kimmie with minimal makeup, but for the rest I would prefer to do a full face since the shades are nude. For the lip swatch pictures, I decided to go with a full face of makeup paired with a grudgey eye. I’ll make a separate post discussing the products I used to create the look later in the week.
My favorite shade for a full face would definitely be Kimberly because it’s a true nude. For simple everyday glam, I would reach for Kimmie. It is the only shade that I don’t mind wearing with full product. I reach for these when I don’t want to wear a matte liquid lipstick and I don’t want to wear a regular lipstick either. The formula is very comfortable (like extremely comfortable) on the lips. However, if you’re looking for something that’s long wear, this isn’t it.
After trying out my mom’s, and despite liking the formula, I don’t think this is something I would buy myself. Although I love nude lippies, this collection isn’t really my style. Am I still going to borrow these from my mom? Of course, just not that often.
On a final note, I don’t think these would like very good on darker complexions. In all honesty, that majorly sucks. Of course, not all lip shades look good on every single skin tone, but this collection was pretty much just made for fair complexions. I’m bringing this up because there are some fair beauty vloggers, that said it would look great on everybody. I disagree. However, I do think anybody who wants this, whether light or dark, could make it work by pairing it with lip liners or other liquid lipsticks.
Have you tried out the KKW x Kylie collection? How did you like them? Would you buy them if they were released again? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Stay Vampy,
The Boho Vamp
I have! I like to layer it on though. It’s too sheer with one swipe for me.
I love your blogs! Keep them coming!!!
