So let’s talk about eyebrows. The last eyebrow trend was creating thick and dark brows using a pencil, powder, or pomade. The latest trend steps away from those carved out brows to something more “natural” and a bit on the wild side. Here’s a picture of Nikkie Tutorials with eyebrows that we’re use to seeing or even recreating.
I wouldn’t say its fully natural, because you would still lightly fill in your brows and still use a brow gel. Basically, you fill in your gaps using your product of choice, then take your brow gel and brush upward throughout the length of your brow. Yes, throughout the length of the your brow. Not just the front the way we normally would. Here’s a picture of Cara Delevingne with the latest trend.
I wanted to use Cara as an example, because she was also a staple for the last eyebrow trend. I mean, she does have amazing brows.
I think the trend is pretty cool, if you’re going for a more editorial look and you also have the brows to do it with. However, I personally wouldn’t try to do this unless I’m making an editorial makeup look. Even for that reason, it would still be a hard maybe.
I can’t participate in this this trend because my eyebrow hairs are REALLY long. If I were to comb them up, I would honestly look like a mad scientist. Some of you might be thinking, “just trim the hairs.” I can’t. I have a scar on my right eyebrow. If I trimmed my hairs too short, I’d have a very big bald spot. Thankfully my hairs are long and thick enough to cover that bald spot without it looking like a weird eyebrow combover.
I’m not the only one who can’t be a part of the trend. There are plenty of people who just don’t grow enough hair to do this. This isn’t one of those trends that you can just mimic using eyebrows products, because you could risk the chance of looking cartoony. But if you can achieve this look using a pencil or powder, or pomade, thats great.
This makeup trend is one those things where I think you should just do your makeup however you want. Do whatever you like to do, whether it’s rocking no eyebrows at all or rocking carved to the gods rainbow eyebrows. You don’t have to listen to the latest trends or the latest tips. Do. Whatever. You. Want.
So what are your thoughts on this new eyebrow trend? Would you try it? Do you like it? Leave me a comment letting me know.
